The skin is the tissue that covers the human body externally and is one of our largest organs, spanning several square meters. One of its most vital functions is to protect the body from external threats. However, few people think of the skin as an organ, and its diseases are often downplayed. Yet, we should pay close attention to our skin, as it not only has its own specific diseases but can also signal numerous internal medical issues.
Dr. Adrienne Vajda graduated from the Faculty of Medicine at Semmelweis University in 1979. Since the autumn of 1979, she has worked in the Dermatology Department of the Hungarian Defence Forces Military Hospital, where she was appointed Head of Department in 2008. She studied as a scholarship recipient at the Dermato-Oncology Clinic in Hornheide, Germany, and conducted immunohistochemical research at the Pathology Institute of the Medical Faculty in Aachen. After completing the necessary courses, she has been performing laser surgeries since 1993. Dr. Vajda has over 20 years of experience in the histopathological examination of dermatological specimens. Since 1997, she has been involved in the care of dermato-oncology patients, focusing on screening, monitoring, and follow-up care.
