Patients with tumors often present for examinations with symptoms that have been present for varying lengths of time, and the suspicion of cancer may arise based on screening tests. However, certain types of cancer can also be detected through self-examinations. It is advisable to consult a specialist as early as possible, as timely screening can help identify and treat the disease even before symptoms appear.

If you are unable to attend a specialist appointment in person, please have a family member bring a completed and signed "Authorization for Representation at Specialist Appointment" form, which you can download by clicking here.

Oncological Diagnostic Examination

An oncological diagnostic examination helps determine whether a tumor is the cause of the symptoms.

If so, it is necessary to assess the tumor's size, histological type, and the presence of metastases. The patient’s general condition and any coexisting or accompanying illnesses must also be evaluated.

Oncological Diagnosis

The diagnostic process begins with a detailed medical history and physical examination of the patient. This is followed by instrumental and laboratory tests to identify pathological changes. For a definitive diagnosis, a biopsy and histological or cytological examination are required. These procedures help determine whether the lesion is benign or malignant.

It is also essential to evaluate the extent of the tumor to establish an accurate diagnosis. This can be done using ultrasound, X-rays, or other diagnostic methods.

Specialists at Liv Duna Medical Center can also provide second opinions to help patients gain a more detailed and comprehensive understanding of their condition.
