In 1977, he graduated from the Faculty of General Medicine of the Semmelweis University of Medicine. In 1982, he obtained a general surgery examination, in 1994 a gastroenterology examination, and in 1996 a clinical oncology examination. For several decades, he worked as a university assistant professor and as a clinical assistant professor, as the chief physician of the Department of Surgery and Thoracic Surgery of the National Oncology Institute. He worked as head of department in the surgery of Sándor Károlyi Hospital and Szent Erzsébet Hospital. He worked continuously for ten years in the surgical department of several Austrian hospitals. In addition to his surgical practice, he also performed private practice in gastroenterology and endoscopy. He currently works as a chief physician in the Gastroenterology Department of St. Margaret's Hospital.
